30 July 2008 - Separare In Singole Tracce un File APE

Una volta che siete entrati in possesso del file APE di un intero LP o CD proveniente dalle mie release, il primo passaggio da effettuare è decomprimerlo in WAV con Monkey's Audio (www.monkeysaudio.com).


Nella cartella contenente il file APE (ed ora anche il file WAV), noterete la presenza di un piccolo file con estensione CUE:


Si tratta di un file di testo (che dovete aprire con il Blocco Note) che contiene le informazioni per effettuare lo split delle tracce.


Tutto ciò solo ed esclusivamente per cultura. Chissà, prossimamente potrebbe esservi necessario editare a mano il file CUE... 
E veniamo al passo successivo. Procuratevi Exact Audio Copy (www.exactaudiocopy.de), il migliore programma (freeware) per effettuare il ripping dei vostri CD Audio... e non solo!
Una volta installato e settato EAC, potrete impiegarlo per splittare il vostro file WAV. Io per i settaggi mi sono adeguato a quelli indicati da HQShare.net che trovate qui http://www.hqshare.net/showthread.php?t=931. Per accedere al forum è necessaria la registrazione allo stesso. Ovviamente vi consiglio di farlo.


Eccovi la sequenza: Tools -> Split WAV by CUE Sheet -> With Gaps o With Gaps Corrected (e non come nella foto "Individual Indices" [thanks to Moxica]) Vi si aprirà un finestra che vi chiederà di trovare (e caricare) il file WAV da splittare e subito dopo il file CUE (che come detto contiene le istruzioni per effettuare il tutto). Ma qui potrebbero sorgere dei problemi con messaggi del tipo "Error in CUE Sheet".
Per esperienza personale so che EAC non gradisce la riga di informazioni "ISRC" nel file CUE:


Tutte le righe ISRC (una per ogni Track) devono essere cancellate... a mano 
Aprite quindi il file CUE con il Blocco Note e cancellate le righe con l'informazione ISRC. Salvate il file e datelo (privo di righe ISRC) in pasto ad EAC.


Al termine del processo, vi ritroverete le singole tracce che componevano il file WAV. Ovviamente sono file WAV che se volete potrete comprire nuovamente in file APE con Monkey's Audio (nulla si crea nulla si distrugge...) oppure in file MP3 (e qui si distrugge si!).
